From its inception, POWER has worked relentlessly to organize rural women across villages and panchayats. Beginning in one village, our reach has now expanded to 47 villages across 18 panchayats. Women in these areas are now part of vibrant Sangams, where they not only pool savings and manage microfinance but also discuss issues that were once considered “untouchable” topics—domestic violence, dowry, reproductive rights, gender discrimination, caste-based exclusion, and economic disempowerment.

Over the years, POWER has become a beacon of hope and resilience. By creating safe spaces for women and girls to speak out, learn, and lead, we have cultivated a generation of rural women leaders who now actively challenge oppressive structures within their families and communities. The trust has also provided platforms for marginalized women—Dalits, widows, single women, and survivors of violence—to gain access to justice, resources, and dignity.

Our strategies have been simple yet impactful: women-led microfinance groups, training on rights and entitlements, campaigns against violence, and facilitating access to government schemes. These have not only helped women achieve financial stability but also enabled them to break the silence around violence and inequality.

Today, POWER continues to stand strong as a grassroots women’s movement rooted in values of justice, equity, and collective strength. We remain committed to the vision of building a society where women are empowered decision-makers, respected leaders, and equal partners in social transformation.
